Anzac Day

Each year, Australians remember Gallipoli as the event that shaped our nation. The first landing in 1915 which killed so many, the courage and sacrifice of all these who have served Australia.

Scouts march in full uniform, and attend the dawn service on ANZAC Hill, right in the heart of Alice Springs.

Every year on the first monday of May, there is a parade up the main street.

Jott 2000
JOTT - Jamboree On The Trail

Everyone meets to go bushwalking, Joeys, Cubs Scouts and Venturers can all go on 'hikes' to suit their age groups.

What is JOTT?

Jamboree On The Trail is an annual day for the World Scout Movement to hike together.

All Scouts, whatever their age and wherever they may be in the world, are invited to participate in whatever way they can.

Cubs packs and Joey Mobs could visit a local nature trail as part of a weekend camp.

A Scout Troop might check out a hiking trail while working on badge requirements.

A Rover Crew might make a Service Project out of restoring or maintaining a hiking trail. In his or her own way, everyone will be hiking the same direction: towards a better future through Scouting.

JOTT is held on the second Saturday of May each year.

Under the fence, dude

And don't pay with the itchygrub nests!

Cub Car racing

All you need is some standard wooden wheels and screws (all the same, or there will be unfair advantages)

A few sheets of fencing iron, and a slope or hill juat like ours next to the Hall.

Using the same materials, build and paint a wooden car.

all you can do is add lubricant (graphite or pencil scrapings)
