Rockclimbing an Abseiling
Making like spiderman

There is nothing like overcoming your fears to make you grow.

Of course, some of us are already ten foot tall and larger than life

Rockclimbing and bouncing down a cliff face on a rope is not for the faint hearted.

Scouts can only go on adventurous activities with qualified instructors and all the right gear.

1983 -This is NOT how it is now done: No Helmet !!

Abseiling

Abseiling means descending.

Most rockclimbing deaths in the big wide world are due to carelessness going back down.

This is why Abseiling training is carried out using qualified instructors, secured safety ropes, high quality ropes and equipment, and trained 'belayers'.

A belayer pays out or run s in the safty rope in such a way that a climber can only "fall" a very short way.
