Well, we're just waiting to find out what the Venturers are going to do on this page..

As found..(no motor, gbox or wheels)

Ye olden days

The Alice Springs Venturer unit in 1977 found an old FE Holden body on Bond Spring station while earning some money for cleaning up...

We got an engine and gearbox diff and wheels from a "dead" FC demollition derby car. All we needed was a hole chiseled through the floor, because the "3-up-a-tree" gearshift linkages were missing and had been converted to a "four-on-the-floor".

A going (growing? )concern

The fuel lines were tied on with shoelaces and wire, rear shackles were extended so it would be jacked up at the back. Tiger had some old retreaded tyres with wide slabs of rubber bonded onto them - we called them "mud-pluckas". Cool.

The exhaust pipe did a "u" turn from the manifold straight up, out through the bonnet, like a truck's stack. It was chrome, made from an old beach buggy rollbar.

We just took it to the clay pans to slide around in the mud after rains.
